Thicker Than Water

My Review

DCI Jack Logan investigates the brutal murder of a woman whose mutilated body has washed ashore on Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. Putting all thoughts of a quieter pace of life behind him, Logan is determined to bring the killer to justice.

Thicker Than Water is the second book in this fantastic British series. With great characters and a baffling crime to solve, I thought it was excellent. The suspenseful plot had many facets and I was gripped from the first page.

DCI Jack Logan and his team felt real and believable. Their banter and humour was brilliant, despite the horrifying crime. There's a skill to finding the correct balance between gruesome and guffaw — author JD Kirk achieved it perfectly.

The Blurb

Not all monsters are make-believe.

When a badly mutilated body washes up on the shores of Loch Ness, DCI Jack Logan's dream of a quiet life in the Highlands is shattered.

While the media speculates wildly about monster attacks, Jack and the Major Investigations Team must act fast to catch the killer before they can strike again.

But with Nessie-hunters descending on the area in their dozens, and an old enemy rearing his ugly head, the case could well turn out to be the most challenging of Jack's career.

And, if he isn't careful, the last.

Death and dark humour combine in this fast-paced Tartan Noir crime thriller set in the Highlands of Scotland.
