Lying in Wait

By Liz Nugent
Psychological Thriller

My Review

When prostitute and drug addict Annie Doyle is savagely murdered, it sets off a chain of events for the Fitzsimons family. Lives are changed forever as Lydia Fitzsimons and son Laurence sink deeper into a web of lies and deceit.

What a great read! I was never quite sure where the story was leading but it grabbed me and drew me in. It was quite dark and disturbing but incredibly addictive.

Character development was exceptionally good; especially Lydia with her disturbed mind and aloof perspective. Her relationship with son Laurence was tense and dysfunctional yet totally fascinating. The book's ending was fantastic — completely unexpected and shocking.

I thought it was an exciting and gripping read.
