The Dive

By Sara Ochs

Review

Cass has made a new life for herself on Koh Sang island, Thailand; leaving behind her troubled past and old identity in the UK. She's made new friends, is engaged to Logan and working as a diving instructor. Life is on the up and up — or so it would seem. Then disaster strikes as one of her students is dead and another badly injured. Who can be trusted and who can't? As fingers are pointed and events spiral out of control, a massive storm hits the island cutting off all means of escape. Everyone has a secret to hide and someone has discovered Cass's. . .

Set on the paradise party island of Koh Sang, Thailand, The Dive is a gripping thriller full of mystery and intrigue. The story unfolds through the points of view of diving instructor Cass and social media influencer Brooke; which I thought worked very well indeed. The idyllic island of Koh Sang was beautifully described by the author and I was instantly transported to its alluring sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. I soon learned that even in paradise no one is safe.

I thought The Dive was a fantastic locked room mystery and will undoubtedly be this summer's 'must read' thriller. Well done Sara Ochs on a great debut novel.
