Between You and Me

By Lisa Hall

Review

Sal and Charlie are in an abusive marriage. While Sal stays at home looking after their young daughter, Charlie is a high-flying corporate lawyer on a substantial salary with promotion looming. Told from both their viewpoints, the story is an uncomfortable yet insightful window on their dysfunctional relationship. After only a few chapters I managed to figure out the huge twist, which put a dampener on the rest of the book. Yes, it was a good read but I felt slightly deflated by the obvious twist.
