By Martin Griffin
Documentary filmmaker Tess Macfarlane travels to Navigaceo, a remote island in the Atlantic Ocean abandoned 50 years earlier. She's there to film the protected monk seal population for marine research foundation Seawild. Whilst exploring, Tess discovers a body washed ashore and to her horror it's wearing the same Seawild-branded top as herself. She soon realises someone on her team is a killer and with five days until a boat arrives to take her to the mainland, she doesn't know who she can trust.
Having read and loved the author's previous novel The Second Stranger last year, this new book was high on my 'must read' list. I thought it was equally gripping and tension-filled. The intricate plot was cleverly put together and the isolation of the Island excellently described. I'm a sucker for a great locked-room mystery and this one hit the mark. I'm looking forward to seeing what the author produces next.

Synopsis
The island was abandoned for fifty years.
So how did the body get there?
Navigaceo: a tiny island five hundred kilometres from land in the Atlantic Ocean. Hastily deserted fifty years ago, it has been uninhabited ever since. Until now.
Tess Macfarlane is part of the very first return expedition and, as a documentary filmmaker, her job is to record everything she sees. Whatever Tess is expecting to find, it is not a body. Recently killed and wearing the uniform as her.
It soon becomes clear that someone on Tess's team is a killer. With five days until she can return to the mainland and no idea who to trust, can Tess avoid becoming the next body discovered on the shore?
