My Review
I read The Holiday during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. If I couldn't experience a holiday I was jolly well going to read about one! That being said, it wasn't quite the sort of holiday I'd wish upon anyone — this was a holiday full of lies, deceit and ultimately murder!
Four female friends and their families holiday together in the south of France to celebrate turning 40. Plenty of poolside relaxation at their swanky villa was the plan. But Kate believes her husband and one of her friends are having an affair. The only problem is, which friend? Determined to find out, she uncovers a whole can of worms and realises one of them will stop at nothing to prevent the truth coming out.
This book is definitely a slow-burner but once it picks up pace it really is an excellent read. There are plenty of red herrings and a whole heap of twists and turns you wont see coming. Does someone have a hidden agenda and if so, what? There are hints and nuances along the way but can Kate connect the pieces? There's more than just her marriage at stake.
