The Six

By Luca Veste
Psychological Thriller

My Review

Six friends attend a music festival unaware that their lives are about to change forever. What was supposed to be a fun weekend reminiscing about old times leads to murder and mayhem. The friends make a pact of silence and realise there's no turning back. It's a decision which will destroy their lives. . . one by one.

I really enjoyed The Six, the first book I've read by Luca Veste. Although over 400 pages long it seemed a fairly quick read — most likely because I was eagerly turning pages as the time flew by!

The story moved seamlessly between flashbacks and the present day, which worked extremely well. I found it quite a dark and unsettling read as tension mounted. Do you ever really know those closest to you? When push comes to shove isn't it natural to protect only yourself? The answers to these questions are what the six friends must confront. Friendships and loyalties are pushed to their limits.

It's a chilling story which leaves you suspecting everyone. A very enjoyable read indeed.

The Blurb

Six friends trapped by one dark secret.

It was supposed to be our last weekend away as friends, before marriage and respectability beckoned. But what happened that Saturday changed everything.

In the middle of the night, someone died. The six of us promised each other we would not tell anyone about the body we buried. But now the pact has been broken. And the killing has started again …

Who knows what we did? And what price will we pay?
