Our House

By Louise Candlish

Review

Fiona Lawson returns home to find a removal van parked outside her house in an affluent part of London. She then notices strangers moving in. Who are these people and why are they in her home? Despite her marriage having recently broken down, her beautiful house isn't for sale.

Fiona is about to be plunged into a living nightmare where everything she thought she knew is turned upside down. Surely estranged husband Bram can set the record straight and get these people out. But when she tries contacting him she discovers he's disappeared. . .

What a rollercoaster ride this book turned out to be. Admittedly it was rather far-fetched but OH MY GIDDY AUNT it was super exciting! There were so many jaw-dropping moments I was literally glued to the pages. Deceit and lies are themes explored — the depths a person (or persons) will sink to for self-preservation.

Just when you think the story has reached a neat and tidy conclusion, THAT ending happens and everything is blown wide open! I will say no more except that if you haven't seen the tv series or read the book you're missing a treat.

Synopsis

On a bright morning in the London suburbs, a family moves into the house they’ve just bought on Trinity Avenue. Nothing strange about that. Except it's your house. And you didn’t sell it.

FOR BETTER, FOR WORSE.
When Fi Lawson arrives home to find strangers moving into her house, she is plunged into terror and confusion. She and her husband Bram have owned their home on Trinity Avenue for years and have no intention of selling. How can this other family possibly think the house is theirs? And why has Bram disappeared when she needs him most?

FOR RICHER, FOR POORER.
Bram has made a catastrophic mistake and now he is paying. Unable to see his wife, his children or his home, he has nothing left but to settle scores. As the nightmare takes grip, both Bram and Fi try to make sense of the events that led to a devastating crime. What has he hidden from her – and what has she hidden from him? And will either survive the chilling truth – that there are far worse things you can lose than your house?

TILL DEATH US DO PART.
